First of all, thanks to all at HWCH for organising a great weekend of music. We enjoyed our show and appreciated all the lovely feedback. From a punter-point-of-view my highlights were Ham Sandwich's cover of Running Up That Hill when Niamh's voice sliced through the bass heavy PA in Twisted Pepper with real proper heartbreaking power, and Super Extra Bonus Party in Andrew's Lane. Man, those guys have some serious energy! Very impressive.

Didn't catch his gig but met Rory Grubb in Andrew's Lane last night and am already a fan after listening to the songs on his myspace today. A reductionist review might say Nick Drake meets Panda Bear and the Animal Collective gang, but his music is full of personality so even though that would be a mouth-watering enough prospect it wouldn't be doing him justice. Go there and listen, you won't be disappointed:

Ok, so I'm struggling away trying to get my head around the world of E-Commerce... more difficult and time consuming than I first thought. If it's not a music or graphics programme I really am a computer Noob. The new site should be up soon enough and hopefully we'll be selling our music through there, but in the meantime I thought I'd sell our EP through E-Bay. Should anyone want a copy they can go here:

Been a great few months; Picnic, followed by Arthur's Day and then HWCH. Up next for us is Phantom's Next Big Thing in early November and a whole lot of writing and recording. Might release an EP soon, maybe an album, might just throw some free tracks out on the website, we're an indecisive bunch at the best of times so we'll see what happens... Anyway, Everything always works out for everyone in the dying seconds... so we'll be alright.

In other news: 3 new members have recently joined the Dying Seconds, and with them on board we are due to record a new e.p. of material next month.

The long delay in following up our debut album has many causes, most prominent of which are self doubt and broken computers, but new material is definitely on the way. The tracks are finalised and demoed to the nth degree and will be recorded proper in Wexford on friday the 13th, Valentines day, and Sunday the 15th of February. An odd combination of fear and love is to be expected, which actually sums up the e.p. pretty well.

The pitch he gave us is incredibly ambitious and original so we can't wait to see how it turns out. It's for one of the songs from our new EP, with the working title "New Year's Eve", and should be ready to coincide with the release of the EP in January.

Post Picnic and we're still buzzing from the great reaction we got on all 3 nights. Thanks to everyone who came and saw us play and to Philly and everyone at ThisIsPopBaby for giving us the gig. We had a great time and hope to be back next year.

Due to financial broke-assedness we weren't able to get it professionally mastered so I had a go myself rather than just throw it out. Hope it isn't too unkind to people's headphones and speakers. There are 5 tracks; 34 of which are remixes of stuff from our album and a 5th new track called Lift which probably wasn't going to find a home otherwise.

Predictably enough, Our new E.P. proper, "Run Away", has been delayed a little longer but should be finished soon (understandable if you don't believe me anymore but we want to get it right).

Our plan for the near future is to hide away and begin demoing songs for a new album. Jack recently got accepted to the Music Masters in Trinity so we will be spending the year nerding up on our production skills and will hopefully be back sometime next year with album number two.
No doubt we will be playing a few gigs throughout the year here and there so we'll keep you posted on that front.

We are officially playing Electric Picnic this Weekend. We will be playing the ThisisPopBaby tent on Friday at 11.00pm and on Saturday at 11.30pm. Friday will be a full live band set and Saturday will be myself and Jack doing a laptop set.

Hello, This is our new blog. Fuck knows how often it will be updated; but I will try and keep posting any time something vaguely interesting happens.
Due to the lyrics for "Run Away" turning out to be a major struggle for me, and taking much longer than anticipated to write, the E.P. has been delayed somewhat and should be finished by the end of Julyish. Would love to have it wrapped up before we head down to Castle Palooza, so that's pretty much the aim now.
Before then, however, we plan to release an E.P. of remixes from the first album. These are finished and are just waiting to be mastered. As soon as that's done we'll be making them available free for download. I'll post the cover art and track list in the next couple of days.
